This quaint, picturesque town, about a 15 minutes commute from Orlando, and less to Disney, is one of the oldest towns in Central Florida. Windermere is nestled among the picturesque Butler Chain of Lakes, and is ideally situated between the northern part of Disney World and Downtown Orlando. The area is next to the Florida Turnpike highway and not far from the I-4 interstate. The village of Windermere itself is
celebrated for its old world charm, sense of community and traditional setting. For shopping, Windermere borders the area of Winter Garden which is home to Winter Garden village which includes supermarkets, stores, restaurants and lots more. This is a highly sought after residential area and features some truly magnificent homes in addition to a wide selection of quality town homes, condos and single family homes. If you’re interested in Windermere as an investment, this is perhaps the safest long term rental area there is. According the local restrictions, all homes that are set aside for rental must be rented long term.
One of the main attractions for long term residents about Windermere, is its selection of excellent A-Rated schools. Public schools such as Windermere Elementary, Keene’s Crossing, Sunset Park have attracted families from all over the region. The private school Windermere Prep has been designated the best private school in the Central Florida area.
Windermere puts you close to some beautiful country clubs and golf courses. Perhaps the area’s most celebrated course is the world renowned Bay Hill Club & Lodge, the winter home of Arnold Palmer. A real golfer’s course Bay Hill is full of challenging holes that attract some of golf’s biggest names. Another noteworthy course in the area is the new Tom Fazio designed course at the Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort.
